Frequently Asked Questions About Psychic
Reading & Healing Serivces

1)  How long have I been doing this kind of work?

Since 1980

2)  How did I get started?

After several setbacks in the mid-1970’s I was open to asking for spiritual help.
I did so because within the span of 12-months I got divorced, lost my job as a
business school dean, lost my run-off election for the Oakland City Council, and
near bankruptcy forced me to leave my full time university teaching career to
earn a greater income. The initial help I got came in the form of a professional
psychic reading from the Berkeley Psychic Institute. Even though I got help from
other teachers including Howard Thurman. In addition to intensive one-year
studies at the Graduate Theological Union and the Jungian-Senoi Institute, I did a
great deal of self-study. I was so moved by the reading that I signed up for the
one-year clairvoyant training course. At the time I mainly interested in personal
growth. Four years later, in 1980, I started the Aquarian Institute with Dr.
Sydney Metrick. Over the next several years we did psychic counseling and
healing work through individuals sessions and taught classes in the Psychic Arts
and Intuitive Sciences.

3)  Where does reading and healing take place?

The simple answer is right where you are. For most clients sessions take place
anywhere in the world via telephone, in Berkeley for in-person sessions, and at
the clients’ location by arrangement.

4)  What is the cost?

Currently, the cost is $240 per hour, $120 per half hour, and $60 for the
minimum 15 minutes session when applicable. The promotional get aquainted
rate for new clients is $25 for the first 15 minutes. We are happy to spend extra
time before sessions begin so clients will know where they stand regarding any
work to be done, the question to be answered, and the total price for the session.

The average cost for initial counsultation/readings is about $100.

The minimum in-person charge is $200 for a 50-minute session.

5)  What takes place?

Readings (consultations) consist of three parts. First, I listen to the clients’
questions, or situation, and assist in clarifying questions that are not well
defined. For clients with limited budgets I’ll we can often work on a more
streamlined reading or address fewer questions as a possibility for working with
them. When clients can’t make the investment they need to make other plans.
I often suggest places where
the clients can go or things they
In view of the I Ching’s extreme
can do to get the help they                          age and its Chinese origin, I
need within their price range                      cannot consider its archaic,
range and geographical area.                     symbolic, and flowery language
                                                              abnormal.
Second, I do the intuitive work                                      C. G. Jung
needed to come up with
answers to the questions we agreed upon in the first part. This often means
using clairvoyance to get and then write down answers to questions. I then
collect insights from tarot cards to gain added perspective, and in most cases I
make use of the I Ching to boost the precision of important insights. With in-
person readings my written notes are less organized as I spend less time on
inner work and more time on interacting with clients.

Third, I present and explain my insights, interact with client perspectives, and
often make use of examples to clarify things. While most clients’ listen with
great interest and many take notes, reading can be put on audiotape or CD if
requested.

6)  How do prayer requests work?

Affirmative prayer sessions by telephone and in-person may be recorded on CD
at the clients’ request. The sessions begin with clients talking about their need
for healing as I listen and ask clarifying. Most first time clients get readings
before spiritual mind treatment/prayer work begins. The reading helps clients to
understand the Souls' wisdom and guidance about the situation that needs
healing or attention, and to be aligned with it. These insights usually give
penetrating perspectives on what the problem is, why it is a problem, and what
steps the clients can take to create the best outcome.

The goal is to pray for healing or improvement of the clients’ condition until the
desired result(s) shows up. This follow-up work may produce results in a week
or a month, and in a few cases a year.

7)  What topics can be discussed?

Any topic.

8)  How do clients find out about your services and seek your help?

Over the twenty-five years that I have been helping individual clients I have
found that most of them find out about me through yellow page directory ads and
referrals from other clients. While most clients come to me by way of yellow
page ads, my work with them tends to be more brief than with referral clients.
Since this website as a new mode of outreach (started July 2007), it serves to
create some new clients.

When I first talk with or meet with potential clients we usually get acquainted by
discussing questions like why they called, how they found me, what questions or
topics they want to work with, how I can help provide the insights and healing
they seek, potential costs, and sometimes we talk about our backgrounds. If we
come to a place of mutual acceptance and comfort things go forward.

9)  How accurate are the readings?

In general, there are three factors that tend to affect the accuracy of reading.
First, readings that deal with subjects rooted in the past, the present, and near
future are pretty accurate (over ninety to ninety percent). But readings about
distant future, complete unknowns and lost and found are the least accurate.

Second, streamlined or quick readings on a topic tend to be less accurate than in-
depth readings. As a rule, the more information collected on a subject the greater
the accuracy about the subject being examined.

Third, the more the client knows about the subject the more accurate the
reading. For example, lost and found readings along reading requests that have
no knowledge of a subject are among the least accurate. Readings on current
situations such as relationships tend to be the most accurate as clients already
know quite a bit and can better understand additional insights about the subject
matter. When clients know nothing about a subject it is difficult for them to
validate the reading. For example, the answer to a question like, “who will I
meet in the future and when will I meet them?” cannot be validated in the
present and accuracy is impossible to determine until the event takes place.

Fourth, clients that look for simple yes or no type outcomes, rather than answers
to open-ended questions suited to the deeper minds universal language of
imagery and symbols, have will from time to time need to accept that about
twenty percent of the time the answer to such questions is neither yes or no.
Some clients don’t ask the right questions, make the assumption that the
unconscious in black and white terms like they do, and get frustrated with
insights in shades of gray. While most of us like simple outcomes and to be in
control, the larger mind always addresses the whole which may not be explained
by simple either or outcomes. Questions that limit the deeper minds ability to
give insights are those that aim to get numerical information, specific names, or
moral judgments as answers to questions like: When is it going to happen or
when did it happen? How much or how many or how big? What numbers will
open the combination lock or win the lottery? Who did it? Did he or she commit
the wrongdoing in question?

10)  How and when are client dreams and astrology included in sessions?

While most clients don’t remember their dreams, work with dreams does come
up from time to time and goes a long way toward awakening clients to key part
of their lives. When clients want my assistance in understanding what a
particular dream(s) means I am happy to offer interpretative insights after I get
some background. Before I give my insights I usually ask clients to tell me what
was going on in their life at the time of the dream, and to tell me how they feel
about certain parts or themes in the dream. Without this background it may be
difficult to personalize the meaning of the dream.

Work with psychological astrology comes up from time to time when clients
request this perspective, and when I suggest that they consider what this
perspective has to offer. Since astrology, by its nature, is not designed to
address most of the practical questions that clients bring to readings this tool is
used on a limited basis.  Most astrological work and work with interpreting
dreams is blended with some depth psychology and psychic reading perspectives
to give greater clarity.
